EJACULATION When the penis has achieved sufficient stimulation, ejaculation begins. At that point, semen is ejected with rhythmic contractions. These rhythmic contractions are part of the male orgasm. The typical male orgasm lasts several seconds. After the start of orgasm, pulses of semen begin to flow from the penis, reach a peak discharge and then diminish in flow. The typical orgasm consists of 10 to 15 contractions. Once the first contraction has taken place, ejaculation will continue to completion as an involuntary process. At this stage, ejaculation cannot be stopped. The rate of contractions gradually slows during the orgasm. Initial contractions occur at an average interval of 0.6 seconds with an increasing increment of 0.1 seconds per contraction. Contractions initially proceed at regular rhythmic intervals, followed irregular contractions at the conclusion of the orgasm. Ejaculation begins during the first or second contraction of orgasm. In most cases the first spurt occurs during the second contraction. The first or second spurt is typically the largest and can contain 40 percent or more of the total discharge volume. After this peak the flow of each pulse diminishes. When the flow ends, the muscle contractions of the orgasm continue with no additional semen discharge. A small sample study of volunteers showed an average of 7 spurts of semen (range between 5 and 10) followed by an average of 10 more contractions with no semen expelled (range between 5 and 23). This study also found a high correlation between number of spurts and total ejaculate volume (i.e.: larger semen volumes resulted from additional pulses of semen rather than larger individual spurts). The force and volume that will be ejected during ejaculation will vary widely between individuals and may contain between 0.1 and 10 milliliters. Volume is affected by the time that has passed since the previous ejaculation; larger semen volumes occur with greater durations of abstinence. The duration and intensity of the stimulation leading up to climax can also affect force and volume. Another study measured the distance of ejaculation. From approximately three-quarters of volunteers, the semen exuded from the penis. From approximately one-quarter of volunteers, the semen was propelled from a matter of some inches to a foot or two, or even as far as five or six feet. Masters and John report ejaculation distance to be not greater than 30–60 cm. HANDJOB A handjob is the manual stimulation of one partner's penis by another partner to the point of ejaculation. The risk of contracting a sexually transmitted disease by providing or receiving a handjob is negligible, and the risk of pregnancy by providing a handjob is zero. A handjob often involves the provider doing all the work. As such, the receiver can relax, often in a reclined position, and focus on the sensation. Ejaculation often occurs outside the provider’s body, and as such, can be visually stimulating for both the provider and receiver. Some providers derive a sense of pleasure from bringing a per to climax, as this can represent a form of exerting control over that per's physiology and emotions. Blowjob A blowjob is the stimulation of one partner's penis to the point of ejaculation, by the other partner’s mouth (tongue, lips, teeth and/or throat). A combination of manual and oral action may be used to bring the receiving partner to climax. The providing partner may take the receiver’s ejaculate in the mouth, and/or on the face (i.e.: a facial). Following ejaculation, some providers will swallow the receiver’s semen, whereas others will spit or allow it to dribble out of their mouth (i.e.: an oral cream pie). Deep-throating is a blowjob which involves taking the receiver’s entire erect penis deep into the mouth, in such a way as to enter the receiving partner's throat. Deep-throating is difficult for some providers to perform due to the natural gag reflex. As with a handjob, a blowjob often involves the provider doing all the work, enabling the receiver to relax and focus on the sensation, and/or watch the provider perform the service. As with a handjob, many providers derive intense stimulation by performing blowjobs. Although it is not possible to become pregnant by providing a blowjob, it is possible to contract a sexually transmitted disease by providing and/or receiving a blowjob. Cumshot A cumshot is a slang term used to describe images of a per ejaculating in a video, or photograph, usually onto another per. It is typically used by the cinematographer within the narrative framework of a pornographic film. The pornography industry adopted the term "'money shot'" because the final ejaculation scene has become an important element in pornographic depictions, in part because it proves to the viewer that they have witnessed an authentic sexual act. The cumshot has become such a common conclusion to scenes in pornographic videos that if a scene does not end with an ejaculation sequence, viewers may believe that the scene was cut. Facial A facial is a term for non-penetrative sexual activity in which semen is ejaculated onto the face of one or more sexual partners. The performance of a facial is typically preceded by activities that result in the sexual arousal and stimulation of the ejaculating participant. After the prerequisite level of sexual stimulation has been achieved, and ejaculation becomes imminent, the penis is positioned so that the semen discharged will be deposited onto the partner's face (i.e. facial cumshot). Views on facial cumshots range from being an act of degradation and elicit humiliation to being a way of experiencing intense stimulation and variety. Facial cumshots are regularly portrayed in pornographic videos and photographs. A significant factor in the development of facial cumshots as a pornographic form was the mandatory censorship in Japan where genitals must be pixelated by a "mosaic". One consequence of this is that Japanese pornography tends to focus more on the face and body of actresses rather than on their genitals. Since film producers could not show penetration, they sought other ways to depict sex acts without violating Japanese law and since semen did not need to be censored, a loophole existed for harder sex scenes.
